The player's only method of interacting with the game is through gizmos. Each can be placed in any "open space" on the screen (not occupied by terrain, robots, Munchkins, etc). When placed, gizmos fall until they impact any object (terrain, robot, Munchkin, etc), at which point they stop and become immovable fixtures (except for bombs, which follow Munchkin physics). Objects colliding with falling gizmos (other than bombs) treat them as immobile terrain. The behavior of gizmos once they are fixtures depends on their type:
Girders
Girders are placeable destructable terrain. They are 4 tiles long, with two ramps for the edge tiles. Once fixed, they are treated exactly like normal destructable terrain.
Bomblings
Bomblings are 1 tile large spheres on wheels that detontate after a set amount of time once placed (5 seconds?). Unlike other gizmos, they fall and collide and bounce just like Munchkins do, and when on the ground move forward at Worker speed. They are treated just like Munchkins by all entities in the game, and anything that would kill a Munchkin detonates the Bombling (splatting, crushing, etc).
When a Bombling detonates, it affects destroyable terrain and Munchkins near it. All destroyable terrain in a 3 tile wide octagon centered at the Bombling is destroyed. All Munchkins in that octagon are killed as well. Any Munchkins that are 2 tiles away from the Bombling are knocked away from the bomb at a certain velocity. Robots are unaffected by Bombling detonation (maybe dazed?).
Launchers
Launchers 1 tile large contraptions that, when fixed, launch Munchkins into the air. When fixed, they are treated as indestructable northeast facing triangles except when run into by a walking Munchkin from the left side. When that happens, the Munchkin is immediately launched foward at a 45 degree angle at a particular velocity.
Bouncers
Bouncers are 3 tile long devices that, when fixed, allow Munchkins that land on them to rebound upwards without splatting. (should it add velocity? give a fixed velocity? decrease velocity if too fast?). When fixed, they are completely ignored by all game entities except Munchkins that fall on top of them (that is, walking Munchkins just pass through them).
Cells
Cells are cages that are 2x2 tiles in size. When fixed, a Cell will "collect" any Munchkins impacting it, up to a maximum of 8 Munchkins. Collected Munchkins are effectively (temporarily) removed from the game. All game entities other than Munchkins (robots, death beams, bombs) treat Cells as indestructable terrain. Once a Cells has collected 8 Munchkins, or a certain amount of time has elapsed (15 seconds?), the Cell is destroyed and any held Munchkins are freed (launching at a low velocity in 8 directions from the center of the Cell).
